      Hi all,

I’m new to turning wood and resin, I bought the resin from resin4art but found it was unsuitable for my project as the resin reach temps of over 250 degrees and basically tried to boil. I bought a pressure pot and that just sealed in the heat so made it even worse. I’m trying deep pour resin from Eli-Chem next but I must have blown a couple of hundred pounds so far trying to get it correct. Any advice would be great. Happy days

Hey I’m still pretty new myself to resin and wood (check out my Instagram @shopdogworkshop, no not just a plug for a follow lol)
I’m using amazing clear cast for things like bottle stoppers and filling voids as I’m in no hurry.
I also have elichemicals deep cast which I bought at makers central. I’ve used it a few times now and the Exothermic reaction is minimal. I haven’t poured a massively deep pour yet but it’s pretty good. Downside is the cure time is huge. Would say cast get pretty solid with 24-36 hours depending on ambient temp however you need a week at least for full cure.
I’m happy to chat and share tips just message me up on Instagram.
